Researcher, Economics Service, Systems Group, the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute (MJB), Israel’s leading center for applied social research.

Steven Laufer has worked at MJB since 2020. His main areas of research are economics and household finance. Prior to joining MJB, Steven was a principal economist at the Federal Reserve in Washington, DC, where he advised the Board of Governors on housing and mortgage markets.

Steven has a bachelor’s degree in physics from Harvard University, a master’s degree in physics from the University of Chicago, and a PhD in economics from New York University.
